Easy Ginger Slice

INGREDIENTS:


- Whatever cereal you have, I used 3 weetbix, 1 cup cornflakes, and half a cup of shredded coconut

- Golden syrup (2 Tbspn for the base and 6 Tbspn for the topping)

- Butter (100g for the base and 3 Tbspn for the topping)

- 3/4 cup flour

- Ground ginger (1 1/2 tsp for the base and 1 1/2 tsp for the topping)

- 1 1/2 cup icing sugar

- 3/4 cup sugar

- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder


METHOD:


1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius

2. Add 100g butter, 2 Tbspn golden syrup and 3/4 cup sugar to microwave safe bowl. Melt together in microwave in 20 second bursts. It took me 4 bursts. 3. Add your cereals, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger, and 3/4 cup flour and mix together.

4. Pour into baking tin and flatten.

5. Bake for 20-25 mins until golden

6. Leave to cool.

7. Once base has cooled make your topping. Melt 3 Tbspn butter and 6 Tbspn golden syrup in 20 second bursts again. 8. Add 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger and 1 1/2 cup icing sugar to the warm butter and golden syrup mix. Stir together

9. Once combined pour Over your base and spread evenly. 10. Set in the fridge
